Hi, I’m Kate—founder of Made Simple Living.

My journey began in an unexpected place: as an environmental engineer. Through years of studying the impact of chemicals on our health and our planet, I became more conscious of what I was putting on my own skin. When I turned to clean beauty, I found myself overwhelmed—not just by complicated labels and endless options, but by the pressure to figure it all out. Even with a science degree, I found decoding ingredient lists and navigating clean beauty overwhelming.

At the same time, I was navigating anxiety and burnout. My skincare routine, something that should’ve felt nurturing, only added to the noise. I didn’t need more products—I needed clarity. I craved simplicity, transparency, and calm. I wanted skincare that felt like a soothing ritual, not a guessing game.

In 2019, I left engineering to create what I couldn’t find: clean, high-performing skincare made with ingredients I truly trusted. I wasn’t just doing it for myself—I was dreaming about the kind of world and wellness I wanted for my future baby. That meant safer choices, less overwhelm, and a return to the essentials.

Every formula I create is grounded in science, balanced with nature, and designed to support dry, delicate skin with intention—not excess.

Today, I live in Birmingham, Alabama with my husband, our baby, and our two pups. I’m also a lifestyle photographer, inspired daily by beauty in the details and the stories we carry. Made Simple Living is more than skincare—it’s a space for intentional living, emotional connection, and the belief that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.
